![]() ![]() ![]() If you want something exactly like MMO threat, you might have to build it yourself with variables/battle events (or scripting). higher number means more likely, but anything about 0% means there's a chance the character will be targetted. 100% is the norm, so if I understand the underlying mechanic right (don't know for certain though) it's compared to the TRG of other party members whenever an enemy chooses to attack. TRG is just a measure for the chance a character will be targetted by attacks. Since I have a general idea of what values I need and can just make multiple versions of skills shared between actors, would this be something I could possibly add to an ability's formula alongside damage calculations? Or would I need to set up a script to do what I'm talking about doing? In fact I don't even see any parameters an ability can affect besides the main ones. ![]() The problem? Aside from setting it to a specific typed-in value under the Actors or States tabs, I see no way to do this. NewTRG = OldTRG + (Multiplier * GeneratedTRG) It would seem like this should be easy to do: just read the character's current TRG to a variable, use a second variable as a multiplier that is set if the character is designated with something that alters their TRG generation, multiply how much the ability generates by the second variable, add to the first, then set that character's TRG to the new value. Performing any action may increase the user's TRG by a set value until the end of a fight, and characters designated as tanks can use abilities or have a passive state to make the TRG increase faster, or a strictly DPS or healing character might get something to reduce how quickly their TRG builds. However, I want it to work much more like threat does in MMOs. Right now, the only things I can see regarding it involve altering its value directly (such as adding a state or property to one of your defensively stronger characters to make him the target of enemy attacks more often). However, I'm noticing it to be somewhat limited in application. From what I've read, this value is used to set how often each character gets targeted by an enemy, and thus works similarly to threat in MMO games, right? ![]() One parameter in particular I've been looking at is TRG. Since the majority of my experience with building things in an RPG Maker game is from the 2k3 and XP programs, I'm a little unfamiliar with the slew of new parameters that have been added, but at the same time loving them a lot. ![]()
